On 24th and 25th September 2013, the INTERREG IV A France (Channel) – England European cooperation programme held a roadshow on “Europe, Culture and Territories” in Amiens.

This two-day event highlighted and evaluated 39 Anglo-French projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the cultural, tourism and heritage sectors.

ZEPA 2 partner based in Great Yarmouth Joe Mackintosh, SeaChange Arts Director, was one of the speakers on showing the impact of the ZEPA 1 et ZEPA 2 projects (and Interreg -funded PASS Circus) on increasing the attractiveness of the area.

What impact do these Anglo-French cooperations have on increasing employment ?
How do they contribute to strengthening regional and local attractiveness ?
In what way do they encourage social inclusion and access for culture for all ?
How could these collaborations continue in the 2014-2020 period ?

Through their transnational experience, the 39 project leaders have shown the vital role of cultural entrepreneurs (artists and “go-betweens” such as cultural organisations) in local development. The participants in the Roadshow, across all art forms, have decided to stay in contact and jointly continue their contribution to the decision-making process in the cultural, tourism and heritage sectors in the INTERREG V programme led by the Norfolk County Council.
