Scopitone & Cie will be in residency in Peterborough this week, preparing for their performance on the Festival Field Day on Saturday 10th August. For a few days, the company will work will local community groups on their participative performance called the Lost Ball.

Two travelling DJs settle in the cathedral square and upon realizing their music has disappeared they ask the community to help out. The participants are thus invited to bring their favourite 80s cult classic tracks to the caravan – whatever formats, from vinyl to mp3, from cassettes to CDs – to restock the DJ’s collection and recreate the ball that was lost.

On the 8th and 9th August, the company will be working with a young local band called Beat This and with Peterborough’s Polish community. Then, on the 10th August, in Central Park, the whole city will be invited to to join in the retro-disco ball that can finally come about for the Festival Field Day – a quality warm-up before the Peterborough Arts Festival in September!
