Art’Vu - Visual / Urban / Art #3

Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th March 2014
Venue: Maison de l’Architecture de Picardie in Amiens
Full programme of the seminar here

Le Pôle National Cirque et Arts de la Rue et Le Hangar d’Amiens in association with le Centre de Recherche en Arts et Esthétique / UPJV and La Maison de l’Architecture de Picardie.

The aim of this seminar is to highlight the approach of street artists focusing on visual arts (video, photography, multimedia, etc) and, in broader terms, the way that street arts can inspire creators from other artistic fields.
This seminar will also showcase some of the work and researchers from some of these artists.

The morning of 12th March sees the presentation of two distinct artistic visions: Aurélien Nadaud’s, performer and visual artist, and Cie T.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e’s, invited to the 2012 edition of ArtVU.
Company T.r.a.n.s.i.t.s.c.a.p.e will comment the performance-installation Chambre(s) d’hôtel, presented the night before on Alphonse Fiquet square (in front of the railway station), and their relation to architecture and the spectator as a witness/voyeur. The performance will be streamed life on their website.
« Nadaud in situ » is presented as a project of « visual, poetic, performative and participative installation ». Most of all, the artist is passionate about challenging places of day-to-day life, port-of-call, and let local resident be actors in the way they look at and take ownership of such places.

The afternoon will be dedicated to two film experiments inspired by street performances.

Patrick Bokanowski will present Un rêve, his last experimental work, made of images shooted at La Rue est à Amiens/Fête dans la ville festival (Generik Vapeur and No Fit State Circus’ performances are amongst the companies he filmed), integrated to his creation, transforming the images with animation processes. Un rêve will be screened in the evening, Ciné Saint-Leu, in the presence of the film-maker.
Virginie Brylinksi will screen and comment some extracts of her documentary movie, Je suis une peau rouge, dedicated to the work of performer Caroline Amoros and her Princesses Peluches, female characters rooted in the daily-life and everlastingly struggling.
