First week in for the 7 University of Artois students

’Creating an Outdoor Performance’ workshop in Arras: first week!

This first session has enabled Matt Feerick to get to know better each of the 7 students involved and draw out their individual strengths and weaknesses.

A the beginning of the week, he ’tested’ each participant in various performing disciplines such as dance, drama monologue, clowning - particularily in the relationship with the audience - before starting creating the new show.
The context of the story had been agreed by all beforehand, so that from Wednesday, they started working on creating their characters. After choosing basic information such as the name, job, personnality of and relationship between each character, Matt worked on making each of them interacting with one another while acting.

Now that was a full-on week for our seven students, I tell you! They all left with a bit of ’homework’ to do and will all meet again from 11th January 2014 for a second promising session!
